MY MIRACLE
As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36 And hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what this meant. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” 38 And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.” 42 And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. Luke 18:35-43
Children often believe and trust that their parents can do anything. They often go to them with their needs, both big and small, it does not matter. They know that most (if not all) of the time their parent will be able to meet their needs. In our passage today we see a man who would not be deterred from bringing his needs to Jesus. Even amid adversity he persisted with a request to Jesus for healing. The man knew what his needs were, but more importantly he knew who could care for those needs. Jesus wants us to bring our needs to Him (spoiler, He already knows them), both big and small. Just as children bring their needs to parents, Jesus wants us to fully rely on Him for our needs. Jesus saw the man’s faith and met his need and because of this God was glorified.
CONSIDER THIS:
Read: Luke 18:35-43
PRAY: This passage ends with the people recognizing a miracle performed by Jesus! Their response was to follow Him and glorify God. Will you respond the same when you witness miracles in your life? Reflect on the faith in God today.

- What does the boldness of the blind man mean to you personally?
- Why is faith so important in our passage today?
- How often in our lives do we practically exercise our faith in Jesus?
