DAY 18
OCTOBER 2, 2024
OCTOBER 2, 2024
FOR CHILDREN & STUDENTS
You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:1-2
In this passage, Paul encourages Timothy to pass on the teachings he has received to people who will also teach others. This creates a chain of discipleship: Paul discipled Timothy, who is to disciple others, who will then disciple more people. We are called to make disciples who will make disciples. Discipleship can feel daunting, especially if you feel inexperienced or unqualified. However, it’s simply about sharing your faith, experiences, and understanding of the gospel with others. It’s not about being perfect; it's about being faithful and willing to share what God has taught you.
Consider those who serve in our children and youth ministries. They may not have formal theological training, but their love for Jesus and desire to share His message make a profound impact. They are planting seeds of faith in young hearts. As these children and students grow in their faith, they can share what they learn with friends and family, whether through conversation, prayer, or inviting someone to church. This is the essence of discipleship—passing on the faith and helping others grow closer to Jesus.
