DAY 20
OCTOBER 4, 2024
OCTOBER 4, 2024
FOR OUR FAMILIES
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
Families are central to our lives, providing love, support, and a foundation of faith. However, families often face challenges that can lead to anxiety and worry. In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul encourages us not to be anxious but to bring everything to God in prayer, with thanksgiving. Families deal with worries and anxieties about finances, health, relationships, and the future. God invites us to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
When we bring our worries to God, we acknowledge His sovereignty and trust Him with the outcome. Paul tells us to present our requests to God through prayer and petition. We can trust that God will intervene and answer our prayers. Supplication involves asking God to act in our lives and the lives of our loved ones, believing that He hears and answers us. Even as we bring our requests to God, we should do so with thanksgiving. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, reminding us of God’s faithfulness in the past and helping us trust Him for the future.
