DAY 7
SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
Jesus is my HIGH PRIEST
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16
My friends, Jesus is indeed our great High Priest. He is, at this moment, sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf as the promised Messiah, the Savior of the world – our great High Priest. His prayer is that we would be protected from the evil one and sanctified with the gospel of truth.
As our great High Priest, Jesus sympathizes with our human weaknesses, has deep compassion for our frailty and understands our problems – for He was tested in the same way that we are tested. He understands the pressure that humanity is under – today. His intercessions for us are that we maintain intimate communion, sweet fellowship, and perfect harmony with our Father in heaven.
Jesus connects with us at our point of need and listens to our helpless cries. You see, He had to be like His brothers in every way, so that He could become our merciful and faithful High Priest in service to God – so that He could atone for the sins of the people – for your sins and for mine. So approach Him! Approach Him with confidence and you will find mercy and grace.
CONSIDER THIS:
Read: Hebrews 4:14-16
PRAY: Thank Jesus for being “in your corner” and pleading with the Father on your behalf. Then express your needs, concerns, or struggles to Him. He is listening!
