Crosspoint hosting Lifeline Connects Info/Training Session Aug. 13

Crosspoint Church will host a Lifeline Connects informational training session on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. for anyone interested in learning how local churches can help care for vulnerable children and families in the community.
 
The session is open to Crosspoint members as well as individuals from other churches interested in participating.

Inspired by James 1:27, which calls believers to care for orphans and those in need, Lifeline Connects equips and mobilizes churches to meet practical needs while building relationships that point families to Christ.

Using an innovative technology platform, Lifeline Connects partners with local child welfare agencies to connect churches with nearby families who have tangible needs. After a caseworker identifies a need, trained church volunteers receive email notifications and can respond by providing requested items and personally delivering them to families. This creates opportunities to offer encouragement, build relationships, and share the hope of the gospel.

"The Lifeline Connects program alerts churches in Mississippi and other states, including Alabama, Michigan, and South Carolina, to the needs of vulnerable children and families in their communities," said Associate Pastor Wesley Peden. "This partnership will give us the opportunity to meet real material and spiritual needs in our community. We'll be able to provide for families in a way that keeps them together, and we can share the good news about Jesus in the process."
